What do you know about “Human Wonders”?

The human wonders or wonders of the world are seven important constructions made by different cultures across the world in different centuries that define us as human beings and also our origins. There are two different lists about this topic, one from the ancient world and one from the new world. The second list was created in 2001 by the New7wonders foundation. Only 7 out of 200 constructions were chosen they were announced in July 2007. For us, Peruvians, the fact that Machu Picchu was chosen as one of this seven wonders was an important success, since tourism had a major growth since then.

Also, there are other significant constructions that defined an era. For example, Giza (which was included in both lists) or the Colosseum in Rome which was the scenario of many fights between gladiators when the Cesar ruled that part of the world. Perhaps a surprise in this list was Petra in Jordan, since in comparison with the other wonders, was not famous.

Now these places are protected by many entities due to its importance for the future generations, but, it shouldn’t be just them, we have in our country such a marvelous place that is still unknown in certain aspects and we have to protect it so those answers can reach us.
